Previously released on Camouflage Records, out of print since then.
Dance grooves from a politically charged, punk-drenched era of fabled – yet true – shows at high school dances (kicked out for behavior), small venues (covered in fresh sod in the middle of winter) and a thriving scene of bands who somehow all got along.
Always tough to describe to the first-time listener, it’s usually best to take the Urban Guerrillas’ first LP with a want for moving your body in a rock and roll setting. Your mom quite possibly learned to shimmy-shimmy-ko-ko-bop from these guys, and has likely never forgotten.

It should be noted that the sleeve has a different song running order than the sequence presented on the LP itself.
LP sequence: A SIDE – Shimmy Shimmy Ko Ko Bop / Sex Beat / Repetition / Sonic Rapture / Dead Souls B SIDE – Bliss / Ronnie’s Song / Your Cheatin’ Heart / Wild Boy
Sleeve sequence: Bliss / Ronnie’s Song / Shimmy Shimmy Ko Ko Bop / Sex Me / Your Cheatin Heart / Wild Boy / Dead Souls / Sonic Rapture / Repetition
Whether this was a mix-up at the pressing plant, an intended confusing mistake or just a dream sequence, limited by available LP time-per-side, we may never know. I have also seen the song “Sex Beat” appear as both “Sex Me,” and the former. Both are presented for your review.

All songs by Larry Sahagian & David Loy
Carefully digitized from a “very clean” LP source, and even more carefully de-clicked by hand – no filters. As with anything digital, its high resolution may reveal flaws in the analog sources, which may include vinyl surface noise and master tape flaws. No attempt has been made to eliminate or re-equalize this record in any way.
Please enjoy this presentation on Archive.org. I am very pleased to bring it to you via the permission of Urban Guerrilla Larry Sahagian himself, who says:
“i am the owner of all u.g. songs and anyone and everyone has my permission to have fun! go for it the music is yours. just glad you enjoy it. love larry
A “deluxe” edition of this is available on a high-quality CD-R with inserts for those who e-mail and are brave enough to endure the wait…
